Overwatch Won't Have Progression Like Wow

Wow Gold Blizzard won't be rewarding Overwatch players with fancy weapons or power-ups through its progression system. Speaking with Eurogamer, Overwatch game director Jeff Kaplan said the developer plans on trying different things during the break from the recent beta to figure out the game's progression design. "Unlike World of Warcraft or Diablo, where the progression is one of the main motivating factors in those games, whether it be what your level is or your gear, Overwatch is different in that sense," Kaplan said. "We don't want the progression system to be burdensome in the fact that it's telling you what to do or how to play." Kaplan said the studio's intent isn't to reward players with "better guns" or "more hit points" but to focus on a system featuring "cosmetic rewards", but rather find a way to introduce some kind of customization through progression. When asked about a player's return on their time investment, Kaplan said, "I think if we tune it correctly, we can tune it in a way where higher skilled players and players that are performing well can progress faster. I think that would feel pretty good for people." Overwatch's closed beta is currently "offline for an extended break" and is expected to return in late January. Blizzard announced at Blizzcon the game will launch in Spring 2016 for PC, Xbox One, and PS4. In related news, PC gaming peripherals manufacturer Razer announced a line of Overwatch specific gaming peripherals, including themed versions of its Death Adder Chroma mouse and Black Widow Chroma keyboard.
